Apex Legends is one of the most popular battle royale games in the world, with millions of players competing for glory, fame, and fortune. But if you think you have seen it all, think again. A new event called War Games is coming soon, and it will change the way you play Apex Legends forever.
War Games is a new event that features five playlist modifiers that will alter the rules of the game in exciting and challenging ways. Each modifier will be available for a limited time, rotating every few days throughout the event. You will also be able to earn rewards by completing challenges and progressing through a reward track that includes event-exclusive cosmetics.
The War Games event will last for two weeks, starting from April 13th and ending on April 27th. If you want to join the War Games and experience Apex Legends like never before, here is everything you need to know.
What is the War Event?
The War Event is a special event that introduces five playlist modifiers to the normal Play Apex mode. Playlist modifiers are changes to the game mechanics that affect how you play and strategize. For example, one modifier might give you a free respawn, while another might make your armor regenerate over time.
The War Event also comes with a reward track and challenges that will allow you to earn various rewards, including event-exclusive cosmetics. Some of these cosmetics are inspired by Mad Maggie, a new character who is behind the War Games. Mad Maggie is a former mercenary who has a grudge against the Syndicate and wants to disrupt the Apex Games.
The War Event will last for two weeks, from April 13th to April 27th. During this time, you will be able to play different playlist modifiers that will rotate every few days. Each modifier will offer a unique and fun way to play Apex Legends.
What are the playlist modifiers?
The playlist modifiers are the main attraction of the War Event. They are five different game modes that will change how you play Apex Legends. Each modifier will be available for a few days before being replaced by another one. Here are the five playlist modifiers and what they do:
This modifier gives you a second chance to fight for your life. You will get one free respawn per match, meaning that you can come back to life after being killed by an enemy. You will respawn with all your weapons and gear, and you will drop back into the map from a dropship. However, you will not be able to earn the Assassin, Wake, or Wrath badges in this mode, as they require no respawns.
Second Chance will be available from April 13th to April 15th.
This modifier adds more loot and more action to the map. There will be three Hot Zones instead of one, each with a high-tier loot and a chance for a fully kitted weapon. Additionally, there will be Flash Points in each Hot Zone, which are zones that replenish your health and shields over time. You will not need to use consumable items like syringes or shield cells in these zones, but they will still be available in the loot pool.
Ultra Zones will be available from April 15th to April 19th.
This modifier makes it easier to revive your squadmates. You will not need to loot their death boxes to retrieve their banners, as they will be automatically retrieved when they die. You will also find more Mobile Respawn Beacons in the loot pool, allowing you to bring back your teammates anywhere on the map. This mode will encourage more aggressive and risky plays, as you will not have to worry about losing your banners.
Auto Banners will be available from April 19th to April 21st.
This modifier adds a twist to the round time. Every time a player is killed, the round time will be reduced by a certain amount. This means that the ring will close faster and put more pressure on the surviving teams. The exact amount of time reduction is not known yet, as this mode has some issues that need to be fixed before it goes live.
Killing Time will be available from April 21st to April 23rd.
This modifier makes your armor regenerate over time. You will not need to use shield cells or batteries to restore your armor, as it will recover by itself at a rate of 12 points per second. However, there will be a delay of 8 seconds after taking damage before the regeneration starts, and if your armor breaks, the delay will be 16 seconds. There will also be no shield cells in the loot pool, so you will have to rely on your armor regen or find a new armor.
Armor Regen will be available from April 23rd to April 27th.
When are the playlist modifiers available?
The playlist modifiers will rotate every few days during the War Event. Each modifier will have a specific schedule and date when it will be available. You can check the schedule below to see when you can play each mode:
April 13th – April 15th
April 15th – April 19th
April 19th – April 21st

The modes will begin and end during the mornings, PT time. For example, Second Chance will start at 10:00 AM PT on April 13th and end at 10:00 AM PT on April 15th. You can convert the PT time to your local time zone using this online tool.
