The series is a spin-off of Ben 10, which aired from 2005 to 2008, and takes place five years after the original series.

The series has a darker and more mature tone than its predecessor, as Ben and his friends face new threats and challenges from both old and new enemies. Ben is joined by his cousin Gwen, who has developed her own magical powers, and his former rival Kevin, who can absorb and manipulate alien technology. Together, they must protect the Earth and other parts of the universe from evil aliens such as the Highbreed, the DNAliens, and the returning Vilgax.

Ben 10 Alien Force was created by Man of Action, a group of comic book writers consisting of Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle. The series was produced by Cartoon Network Studios and premiered on Cartoon Network in the United States on April 18, 2008. The series ran for three seasons and forty-six episodes, ending on March 26, 2010. The series was nominated for four Emmy Awards, winning one for Outstanding Sound Mixing – Live Action and Animation. A sequel series, titled Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, followed in 2010.

Ben 10 Alien Force has received positive reviews from critics and fans alike, who praised its darker tone, character development, animation quality, and storylines. The series has also spawned several video games, comic books, toys, and other merchandise. Ben 10 Alien Force is considered by many to be one of the best spin-offs of Ben 10 and one of the best animated shows of Cartoon Network.
