Which ESO to Buy? A Guide to the Different Versions of The Elder Scrolls Online
If you are interested in playing The Elder Scrolls Online, you might be wondering which version of the game to buy. There are several editions and bundles available, each with different content and prices. In this article, we will explain the differences between the main versions of ESO and help you decide which one is best for you.
The Elder Scrolls Online Standard Edition
The Elder Scrolls Online Standard Edition is the cheapest and simplest option. It includes the base game and the Morrowind expansion, which adds a new zone, a new class (the Warden), and a new story. The base game allows you to explore the whole continent of Tamriel, join any of the three alliances, and participate in various activities such as quests, dungeons, PvP, crafting, and more. The Morrowind expansion takes you to the island of Vvardenfell, where you can experience the events that happened 700 years before The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
The Standard Edition is a good choice if you are new to MMO games or ESO and want to learn the basics of the game. It has enough content to keep you busy for hundreds of hours. However, if you want to access more zones, stories, classes, and features, you will need to buy additional DLCs or Chapters (see below) or subscribe to ESO Plus (see below).
The Elder Scrolls Online Elsweyr
The Elder Scrolls Online Elsweyr is a bundle that includes the base game and three Chapters: Morrowind, Summerset, and Elsweyr. Chapters are large expansions that add new zones, stories, classes, and features to the game. Summerset takes you to the home of the High Elves, where you can join the Psijic Order and learn new abilities. Elsweyr takes you to the land of the Khajiit, where you can fight against dragons and become a Necromancer. Each Chapter also adds new trials (12-player raids), dungeons, world events, and more.
The Elsweyr bundle is a good choice if you want to start the game with more content and variety than the Standard Edition. It gives you access to four zones, two classes, and three stories. However, it does not include the latest Chapter, Greymoor (see below), or any of the smaller DLCs that add dungeons or zones.
The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor
The Elder Scrolls Online Greymoor is the latest and most complete bundle available. It includes the base game and four Chapters: Morrowind, Summerset, Elsweyr, and Greymoor. Greymoor is the newest expansion that adds a new zone (Western Skyrim), a new story (the Dark Heart of Skyrim), a new system (Antiquities), and a new trial (Kyne’s Aegis). It also introduces a new feature called Harrowstorms, which are dynamic events that require players to work together to stop supernatural storms.
The Greymoor bundle is the best choice if you want to have access to all the major content that has been released so far. It gives you access to five zones, three classes, four stories, and many features. However, it does not include any of the smaller DLCs that add dungeons or zones.
ESO Plus is an optional subscription service that costs $14.99/â¬12.99/£8.99/Â¥1,944 per month (discounted depending on how many months you choose in a single purchase). It gives you several benefits such as:
Access to all DLCs (but not Chapters) while subscribed. DLCs are smaller pieces of content that usually add dungeons or zones.
1,650 Crowns (in-game premium currency) per month that you can use to buy DLCs permanently or other items in the Crown Store.
A craft bag that stores all your crafting materials without taking up inventory space.
Double bank space and housing space.
10% bonus to experience, gold, crafting inspiration, and trait research.
